Saadi is the great poet who wrote so extensively about gardens and roses. This great poet reposed in this place which had been his hermitage for years. His tomb and its area is named Saadieh. This beautiful area and its generous surrounding gardens are appropriate for him. It’s a tranquil place, with the tombstone housed in an open-sided stone colonnade, inscribed with various verses from Saadi and supporting a tiled dome. This region was named “Gazore meaning laundry “because of the one spa which was fed from “Rokn Abad “spring. Ancient people of Shiraz almost believed in the curative of its water.
